Dee practiced yoga while in her mid-twenties at an Ashram in San Diego and continued throughout her professional career practicing under many various teachers and lineages.
After retirement and a move to Washington state from California, Dee decided to become a Yoga Teacher to maintain her health as she was maturing. After her initial 200-Hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training (2015), she completed a 30-Hour Yoga For Healthy Aging Teacher Training (2018) continuing her knowledge to share with others. Always seeking to learn more and to have wider foundation in yoga, she attended a 2nd 200-hour Mindfulness & Alignment-Based Yoga Teacher Training (2019).
Understanding the integral role of other Eastern Practices Dee completed BoYoga Teacher Training (2020) using the BoStaff/Balance Bar as a prop integrating Qi Gong movements in practice and philosophy.
Dee continues her expansion of body movement studies to share with others to maintain Strength, Flexibility, Balance and Agility, as well as integrating Courage, Temperance (Self-Discipline), Wisdom and Compassion (Justice.)
Dee has taught classes at 24 Hour Fitness, The YMCA of Auburn Valley, Auburn Community Center and Brookdale Foundation House Retirement Community in Federal Way, Marlene’s Market and Deli in Federal Way and Tacoma as well as various free classes and by volunteering at Avalon Care Center of Federal Way.
Currently she is on a hiatus from in-person teaching due to CoViD-19 however; she is developing teaching on-line to individuals, small groups and more with a focus on the mature body.
